The FOCUS Act set the stage for a healthier balance between learning and technology. But policies only create impact when communities put them into practice. That’s where PC Empowerment’s Digital Detox Week comes in—a hands-on initiative designed to help schools, families, and youth groups experience what life can look like when screens take a backseat and real connections come first.
What Is Digital Detox Week?
Digital Detox Week is a structured, week-long experience that encourages students and families to step away from unnecessary screen time and re-engage with the world around them. It’s not about abandoning technology altogether—it’s about creating mindful breaks that improve focus, boost well-being, and build stronger connections.
Daily Activities & Challenges
Each day of the week brings a fresh challenge that sparks creativity, mindfulness, and fun:
Day 1: Tidy Tech Tuesday (preview clip)
Day 2: Wellness Wednesday
Day 3: Thoughtful Thursday
Day 4: Focus Friday
Day 5: Self-Care Saturday
Day 6: Soulful Sunday
Day 7: Mindful Monday

How Schools, Families, and Youth Groups Can Get Involved

Schools: Host classroom challenges, reward participation, and share student reflections.
Families: Create a home “detox zone” where phones and devices get parked.
Youth Groups: Organize unplugged outings, team-building activities, or service projects.
Why It Matters
When entire communities participate, Digital Detox Week doesn’t just raise awareness—it builds habits. Students rediscover the joy of being present, families strengthen bonds, and schools see firsthand how reduced screen time can improve focus and engagement.
